BLessed today!

I am having a great day today! Went for a long hike at Point lobos right before a storm hits the California coast. The surf was raging over the rocks and into the inlets. We love the coast here... some of it very rugged and then a mile down is a nice wide sand beach! Hard to get any work done on days like this. so I just started adding some of my art to etsy in the form of digital clip art and Im so excited to be included in this treasury on etsy. I am happy I made the desicion to go 'public' with my art... I have soooo much hiding in portfolios....

living away from home

Well, living away from home is not easy. There are lots of distractions here but I am staying focused on my art and sewing. My daughter is doing great in school and I like my job. But I miss my husband terribly, I see him a few days a week but not every week... I went to SF with my mom and sister instead of seeing him and now Im so home sick I cant focus.

What is the Universe trying to tell me?

so, I had this great part time job working with kids in a computer lab... not alot of money or anything, but a job. I got a layoff notice from the school district last week... so no job. Yesterday I was involved in an accident and the person who was at fault never stopped, just kept going as my car sat in the middle of the intersection totally mangled. So I figure this is some sort of sign from the universe that I need to change what Im doing... or stop what Im doing...?

sewing for a week

Ok! I figured out I cannot sew for 8 hours a day. My hands are swolen and hurt like he**. Its like instant arthritis. I feel like a wimp!!! I ve gotten a lot done tho... costuming for a childrens production is almost complete... just need to finish up another goose and make a little cape and hat for a mouse! Im going to sew for 4 hours today and split it up to see if my hands feel better.

Summer school

our daughter is 10, she has several learning disabilities that keep her from learning how to read. She has had services at school, private tutors, speech pathologists scratchingthier heads, and specialized therapy. All this has been going on for 4 years and with very little results. We fell like weve tried everything. In November of this year we found a private school that is designed to teach children with language delays in such a way, that they stay on track reguardless of thier ability to read.... Its 2 1/2 hours away and in an area thats really expensive to live. We went for a 4 week summer session and are convinced its the right place for her... NOW we have to figure out how to get her over there in 6 weeks time to start the new school year. I am spending this weekend searching for jobs and a cheep rental.

my multimedia existence

I do alot of different things. I sew, design jewelry, draw and paint. I ve never been happy doing just one thing, focusing is hard! So tonight I sit here and wonder how the rest of the world does it?? Just one job, for 8 hours every day, I cant imagine how...I wonder too, if I could focus on just one thing, would I be more successful? Happier? It may be time for an experiment. Maybe a whole week focusing on one thing for 8 hours a day... see what happens, what I get accomplished, how I feel every day. Starting Monday July 9 I will sew costumes for 8 hours a day and will try to blog about it every night.
